British Academy announced the nominees of BAFTA Games Awards 2022 with Housemarque's sci-fi shooter Returnal and Hazelight's action-adventure co-op game It Takes Two leading the nominations. Both games became the nominees in eight categories followed by Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart which has received seven nominations with all three titles appearing in the Best Game category.
Other notable titles that are running for several awards include Playground Games' Forza Horizon 5 and Double Fine's Psychonauts 2 having been nominated across six categories. Meanwhile, Arkane's Deathloop is up for five categories.
39 games in total have been nominated this year, including Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Halo Infinite, Life is Strange: True Colors, Sable, Apex Legends, Far Cry 6, and `Call of Duty: Vanguard. British Academy also paid attention to several indie games like Witch Beam's Unpacking, Daniel Mullins' Inscryption, and Beethoven & Dinosaur's The Artful Escape.
