The new figure reflects 2 million more copies sold since the last sales update.
Hazelight Studios announced that It Takes Two has reached another impressive milestone – the game has sold over 7 million copies since its launch in March 2021.
The game managed to sell its first million copies in just a month after its release, and in October 2021, it became known that the game reached 3 million units sold. The previous success of the game was reported in February 2022 – then the developers revealed that the game's sales hit 5 million copies. The latest sales update reflects another 2 million copies sold since then.
The developers took to Twitter to celebrate the huge milestone and attached a photo of Joseph Balderrama, the actor who voiced the main male character Cody, holding Cutie the elephant (the ruler of the Magic Castle from the game).
It Takes Two was released in March 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. At the end of January, Hazelight Studios and dj2 Entertainment announced that they are working on It Takes Two adaptations for film and TV. Not much is currently known about the project except for the fact that the writers behind Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Pat Casey and John Miller joined the film adaptation.
