The upcoming version will include Deep EXR support, the option to import multiple meshes, and a complete overhaul of its GPU particle system.
During a live stream that took place last week, JangaFX previewed EmberGen 1.0, the upcoming version of the company's real-time volumetric fluid simulation tool that can instantly simulate, render, and export flipbooks, image sequences, and VDB volumes.
The update was dedicated to the upcoming version's most prominent feature – the complete overhaul of the software’s GPU particle system. According to the live stream, the revamped version of the system will include a particle trail system, improved particle lighting, emission of flames and smoke from particles, force masking, and the option to export particles to other DCC applications in Alembic format.
What's more, JangaFX’s roadmap for EmberGen 1.0 shows that the upcoming version will also feature Deep EXR support, a complete export rework, and the option to import multiple meshes. These new features were not featured in the video, but you can learn more about them by checking out the roadmap itself.
As of right now, the release date for EmberGen 1.0 has not been set, but licensed users can already access pre-release test builds via JangaFX's Discord channel to try and test all of the new features.
