JangaFX Reveals 2026 Roadmap
More innovation and expanded support for game development with EmberGen 2.0, IlluGen 1.2, and LiquiGen 1.1.
JangaFX, a company specializing in real-time 3D simulation solutions, has released its public roadmap for 2026, detailing upcoming features for EmberGen, LiquiGen, and IlluGen. This roadmap is intended as a central hub for changelogs and future features, and over time, it aims to become the go-to place for tracking bugs and public feature requests as well.
The company also reflected on the past year, highlighting the releases of LiquiGen 1.0 and IlluGen 1.0, as well as the introduction of MacOS support for IlluGen and GeoGen.
"We successfully moved to an 8-week release cycle so that every 8 weeks, we release new updates for most of our tools to prevent long stretches of time without updates. One other thing that I'm proud of is that we helped 104 artists in need of tools to update their portfolios via our layoff assistance program.
This year, of course, had its challenges: GeoGen development was frozen due to low financial success, though it is an incredible tool that you should try!"

EmberGen 2.0, launching in 2026, is a full rebuild from the ground up, introducing a next-generation GPU particle system, scrubbable simulations via volume caching, enhanced mesh rendering, a new combustion model, and much more. With LiquiGen 1.1, expect splines and emitters for complex liquid flows, liquid UV mapping, and realistic white water rendering.
IlluGen 1.2 aims to extend its shader workflow to Unreal, Unity, and Godot. Additionally, 3D particles will be convertible into both 2D texture projections and exportable objects in formats like JSON, VAT, Alembic, and more. With 2D particle updates, they can be baked into procedural textures or used to provide sampling data for a variety of unique 2D operations.
