After multiple confirmations from Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, it's clear that Rocksteady has never been involved in the creation of a Superman game.
Despite widespread rumors originally shared by insider James Sigfield, he has now admitted that he was wrong and that his source made a mistake regarding the studios involved.
"I corrected it in a later tweet, but it never caught on," Sigfield shared with Schreier. "The person that gave me the info got the studios mixed up."
It seems that Rocksteady not only didn't work on a Superman game, but they also didn't even consider creating one. After completing Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady focused on two different projects – Batman: Arkham VR, released in late 2016, and a multiplayer game based on a new IP, which was eventually canceled for unspecified reasons.
Following the cancelation of Warner Bros. Montreal's Suicide Squad game, Rocksteady took over the development of the game. This project, titled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, faced numerous obstacles and delays as Rocksteady ventured into an unfamiliar genre.
Speaking of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game is set to launch on February 2, 2024. Recently, the insider shared that the third season could feature Gotham and more.
