Developers of Rue Valley, an upcoming narrative RPG with comic-style visuals, just announced that the game’s open alpha test is available for everyone who’s interested in joining. During the playtest, you can experience the start of the story and explore a few locations.
If you missed our previous coverage of the game, it’s about a man stuck in a time loop. The goal is to get out of the loop and make the next day more alive than the previous one. During the journey, you’ll encounter different characters, each with their own story and secrets, as well as emotional struggles. No matter if you decide to play your real personality or if you pretend to be someone else, the game presents unique and different dialogues and interactions.

It’s been three months since we first recommended the game, and the developers have shared a lot more clips and screenshots to showcase the different aspects of the game. Below, you’ll see the different ways of Mr. Harrow, the protagonist, goes to bed depending on his mood, the looks of Rue Valley at different times of the day, the sketch of the graveyard area, stylized characters, animation of the residents dancing with music, and seemingly anxious Mr. Harrow on a moody rainy day:
