Join The Official Mod Editor For The Witcher 3 Playtest

CD Projekt RED has announced the playtesting phase of The Witcher 3 REDkit, a powerful modding software that offers advanced features and unparalleled flexibility to transform The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt into a playground for your imagination.

CD Projekt RED had previously released REDkit for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, but there were no plans to release it for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, aside for the MODKit launch back in 2015 that allowed players to modify some aspects of the game without creating entirely new constructs.

Now, almost ten years since the game's release, The Witcher 3 REDkit is available on Steam for playtesting and is set to be launched later this year, free of charge for The Witcher 3 owners on PC.

REDkit is a powerful software based on the same set of tools that were used by the developers while working on the game and should allow for nearly limitless freedom in modding it. Described as a "love letter to the community", The Witcher 3 REDkit promises unparalleled flexibility in modding the game, allowing players to craft new quests and entire storylines, items, weapons, characters, animations, and even new territories.

Playtest access will be distributed in batches and will be held from April 16 to April 30. After receiving access, The Witcher 3 REDkit Playtest should appear in your Steam Library.

Alongside the modding tools, the developers are also working on enabling the Steam Workshop for the game. You can help by participating in the dedicated Beta by joining the Steam group.
