Here's how one of 2025's most acclaimed games looked during the prototyping stage.
Josef Fares, the Director of Hazelight Studios and the creative mind behind such hits as A Way Out and It Takes Two, has once again taken to Twitter to offer a behind-the-scenes look at the studio's latest game and one of 2025's most beloved and successful titles, Split Fiction.
This time, the developer has shared a neat before/after demo showcasing a couple of Split Fiction's levels during the prototyping stage and comparing the barebones-but-playable sequences to the game's final appearance. Additionally, Josef has demonstrated how the giant you encounter during the Mountain Hike side quest looked in 2022 – back when the character looked like a bunch of oversized meshes stacked on top of one another and complete with a nose ring for some reason.
