Edson Júnior, a fan of Warhorse Studio's medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance, translated the entire game into Brazilian Portuguese – this version of the translation was later used in the text localization for the game.
Edson translated 1.8 million words on his own and absolutely for free and approached the studio with the offer to use the text in the localization. The studio shared Edson's story on its Twitter account thanking the enthusiast for his enormous work.
"On December 15th 2022, we have released the Brazilian Portuguese text localization for Kingdom Come: Deliverance. We are very happy to bring our game closer to our countless gamers, who can now enjoy the story of Henry in their native language. This was made possible by one of our most dedicated South American fan," the studio wrote. "All thanks from the community shall go to Edson Júnior! You can thank him in the comments. He deserves it."
