An open-world survival multiplayer Palworld will be released on mobile platforms in collaboration with KRAFTON.
In a recent press release, KRAFTON announced that its CEO Changhan Kim had signed an agreement with Japanese game developer Pocketpair to license its intellectual property Palworld. Through this agreement, KRAFTON will expand the title to mobile platforms. PUBG Studios, a creative studio within Crafton, will develop the project.
Palworld is a monster-building, open-world survival multiplayer, in which players can collect over 100 different creatures called Pals and send them to battle, build, farm, or work in factories. Palworld launched in early access on PC on January 19 and was an immense success, with more than 25 million players over a month. Shortly after the release, Nintendo planned to investigate whether Palworld's developer had infringed any intellectual property rights related to Pokémon but didn't seem to find any evidence.

However, recently, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair for patent infringement. Pocketpair responded that it was "unaware of the specific patents we are accused of infringing upon." The alleged infringement could be related to the characters catching and throwing other characters' mechanics.
Despite these legal battles, the game recently launched on PlayStation 5 and is now being expanded to other platforms.
