Kung Fu Panda 4 Creator Showed How Movie Looked in Pre-Production

Nideep Varghese showcased behind-the-scenes work on the movie's animation.

Nideep Varghese, Senior Animator at DreamWorks Animation, offered to take a look at how a piece of Kung Fu Panda 4 looked before the final rendering.

The artist showcased a comparison of the animation pass and the final look of the movie extract, which depicts Chameleon, Zhen, and Po. The pre-production clip lacks voluminous coloring, lighting, and visual effects, but the 3D characters move almost exactly like in the final version. Also, the animation pass features a high level of detail, including clothes ornaments and wooden boards. The characters' emotions are also lively and expressive, looking similar to the final version.

Before, other artists who worked on the movie showcased the footage of the animation in progress. For instance, Animator and Storyboard Artist Geoff Wheeler also showed a pre-production version of a piece of the movie's animation:

Justin Weg, Senior Animator at DreamWorks shared a self-made animation reference created for the studio's recent four-hour "Inner Peace Meditation" promo video:
