Baldur's Gate 3 is out on PlayStation 5 now, so you can fully enjoy the adventure on a TV screen with a controller. What you might also want is to be able to play with your friends on different platforms, and you will get this opportunity.
Cross-play is on Larian's roadmap, according to its director of publishing Michael Douse, and it has always been there, but it was a bit too much extra work for one launch.
"It was always in the planning," Douse told Eurogamer, "but we knew it wouldn't be for launch. It's in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we'd like to get it ready for, we don't want to put a date on it until we're sure."
He didn't provide a date for the release, but with Larian's pacing, I'd say we're going to get it sooner rather than later.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available on PC and PS5 now, but an Xbox version is also in development and will be ready "between September and November."
The studio still has many bugs to fix and epilogues to write, but when it's done, Larian will move on to another project.
