Las Vegas' Spherical Arena Hosts Its First Concert

The venue officially opened on September 29, 2023, with the Irish rock band U2 performing live on its stage.

On September 29, 2023, The Sphere at the Venetian Resort, also known as MSG Sphere, officially opened its doors for the first time and hosted its first-ever concert, with the Irish rock band U2 performing live on its stage.

For those who may not be familiar, MSG Sphere is a groundbreaking spherical music and entertainment arena, situated in Las Vegas, Nevada. It stands as an impressive 366-foot-tall sphere adorned with more than 1.2 million LEDs covering its surface.

The venue includes an 18,600-seat auditorium and is already renowned for its immersive video and audio capabilities, made possible thanks to a 16K resolution wraparound interior LED screen, advanced speakers utilizing beamforming and wave field synthesis technologies, and the incorporation of 4D physical effects.

The arena had its official premiere last Friday night, headlined by the "U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere" concert, which served as the grand opening of this cutting-edge entertainment venue. The concert and the entire experience have subsequently been described as a "stunning spectacle" and "utterly astonishing," with attendees commending the arena for its exceptional visual and audio effects. Attached below are some of the incredible videos shared by concert-goers, showing the venue in all its glory:
