Back in 2020, Valve delighted the players with the VR-based Half-Life: Alyx, the latest canonical entry in the Half-Life series. Since then, the game developer hasn't shown interest in expanding the game with extra content, although a number of counter-developers are now introducing a completely new expansion that really looks like it has come from Valve itself.
SFM animator Corey Laddo and level designer Shawn Snelling, the authors of the large-scale plot modification called Levitation, have released the first trailer showing the characters and plot features. In the video, you can see the already familiar characters like G-Man and Russell, as well as new locations and cutscenes.
Levitation will follow the new adventures of Alyx Vance, who this time will set off to find two missing rebels who discovered a mysterious levitating building in sector X of City 17. The authors plan to create a full-fledged story modification, which will take up to five hours to complete.
The release of Levitation on the Steam Workshop is slated for the beginning of the third quarter of 2022 and will be available for free to those who own Half-Life: Alyx.
