Life is Strange Devepolers Go On Strike Because of Layoffs
The strike follows a reorganization plan that might result in the layoff of up to 69 workers.
DON'T NOD
DON'T NOD employees, known for Life Is Strange, Remember Me, and Vampyr, announced a strike on November 8 next to the studio's HQ in Paris. The strike follows the studio's redundancy plan.
In October, the studio announced a reorganization plan that could result in the layoffs of up to 69 staff members. After that, negotiations started, and employees demanded that the studio abandon the redundancy plan, that they have a voice in decision-making at the company, and that DON'T NOD CEO Oskar Guilbert would be present at the negotiations.
The employees also published an open letter (translated by GamesIndustry.biz) in which they pointed out that it was the company's actions that resulted in the need for reorganization: "As workers at this company, we know that these failures are due to a succession of negligent acts and bad decisions from leadership." The workers wrote: "We have warned leadership about these failures for years but are not being listened to. Ultimately, we're the ones paying the price of these absurd decisions today with the redundancy plan."

In the letter, the staff members noted that numerous workers had left the company due to difficult work conditions. They stated: "We want to save the company, but not at the price of unjustified redundancies or a deteriorated working environment."
