Lo-Fi Morrowind-Style Fantasy RPG Gets Its First Major Update

Dread Delusion adds the Clockwork Kingdom, full of new weirdness.

It's hard to describe Dread Delusion, but I think "bizarre" is one of the first words that comes to mind for everyone who looks at it. It's a lo-fi RPG that will probably remind you of Morrowind, filled to the brim with strange creatures and places. I'd say if you used to enjoy American McGee's Alice, you'll love this game, especially its first major update, The Clockwork Kingdom.

"The ominous clanking of gears can always be heard in this cold, desolate place, for the Clockwork King has spread its perverse machinery and violent automation across the land."

In Dread Delusion, you'll find yourself in a broken world where people inhabit flying islands. You can change this place or perish under its weight depending on the choices you make, which mean a lot in this PS1-like experience.

Fight with weapons or spells, charm your way through challenges, pick locks, and use secret knowledge – everything for the win.

The Clockwork Kingdom adds a whole new island to this already weird world as well as a dystopian city, hundreds of characters, and five quests. Here are some other changes you can expect:

  • The journal map has been updated with new landmarks and landmasses in the Clockwork Kingdom.
  • Changed the way cutscenes are presented (now with a larger border).
  • Players may notice a new type of building in every major town, which
    cannot yet be accessed.
  • New islands have appeared on the fringes of the Oneric Isles, they cannot yet be accessed.
  • Added new visual effect when enemies die
  • Added a new player housing unit in the Clockwork Kingdom.
  • Added a new Erudite Academy teleporter
  • New NPCs have been added
  • The console log now shows game 'Facts' as well as normal debug log entries.
