Lords of the Fallen Hits 1 Million Units Sold

Ten days after its launch, HexWorks' soulslike game achieved impressive sales numbers.

In a Twitter announcement by HexWorks studio, it was revealed that Lords of the Fallen had surpassed one million copies sold within just 10 days of its release.

Later, in a statement, also posted on Twitter, CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski emphasized the profound importance of Lords of the Fallen, considering it as the pinnacle of their company's accomplishments over the past two decades. Furthermore, he emphasized that the game represents the first installment in their highly anticipated AAA pipeline of upcoming titles.

"Lords of the Fallen is the most important and ambitious game we’ve developed in our 20-year history and the first in our new planned AAA pipeline of games in the years ahead. To see this fresh and innovative take on the action RPG achieve one million sales in just 10 days has been humbling for everybody at HEXWORKS and CI Games," stated CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski.

Lords of the Fallen, an action RPG developed by HexWorks studio and a reboot of the original 2014 game first revealed during Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live, was released on October 13, 2023, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. According to Metacritic, the game received an average rating of 75 points out of 100 from journalists and 7.1 points out of 10 from site users. On Steam, it garnered 60% positive reviews.

Upon its release, Lords of the Fallen faced criticism due to technical issues that affected the gameplay experience. Players expressed frustration with crashes and stuttering, even on high-performance PCs. Consoles also encountered performance problems. HexWorks promptly responded to the feedback and released multiple patches to address bugs and improve performance. The developers also implemented gameplay changes based on player requests.
