Lulu Cheng Meservey Appointed as Activision's EVP for Corporate Affairs

Lulu Cheng Meservey will serve as both an executive vice president for corporate affairs and chief communications officer helping the company shape its strategic direction and lead communication efforts.

Activision Blizzard announced that it has appointed Lulu Cheng Meservey as an executive vice president for corporate affairs and chief communications officer.

In this newly created role, Meservey will become a member of the senior leadership team and her duties will include shaping the company's strategic direction as well as leading its communications efforts. Activision also noted that Meservey will serve as "Activision Blizzard's public voice at a pivotal time ahead of the impending acquisition by Microsoft."

Prior to her new appointment, Meservey served on the company's board of directors which she joined in April. She was also a part of the company's Workplace Responsibility Committee which was created in 2021 as a measure to improve workplace culture and eliminate all forms of harassment and discrimination at the company following the lawsuit for harassment and discrimination against women filed against Activision in July 2021.

Prior to working at Activision Blizzard, Meservey was vice president of communications at Substack and also served as a senior advisor at strategy firm McLarty Associates for over eight years.

CEO of Activision Blizzard Bobby Kotick commented on Meservey's appointment: "Lulu is a unique talent with a brilliant strategic mind. She has an intuitive grasp of the changing communications landscape, combined with an exceptional ability to connect with diverse audiences. She shares our commitment to a company culture where creativity and excellence can thrive."

Meservey said in a statement that the more she got to know people at the company, including Bobby Kotick and the leadership team, the more she was "impressed" with "the commitment and integrity at every level."

"It's clear there's a gap between perception and reality, which is daunting but exciting," she said. "I see a big opportunity to share the true story of Activision Blizzard with our talented employees and hundreds of millions of players around the world. Plus, where else do you get to play StarCraft for work?"
