Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Writer Is Joining BioWare

Mary DeMarle, Deus Ex and Guardians of the Galaxy writer, announced she has joined EA's BioWare where she will serve as a senior narrative director.

Mary DeMarle, Deus Ex and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy writer, recently announced she has joined EA's BioWare.

She took to her LinkedIn page to reveal the news. "I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Narrative Director at EA/BioWare!" she wrote.

Prior to BioWare, DeMarle worked at Eidos Montréal for 15 years where she served as narrative director for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as well as mobile spin-offs Deus Ex: Go and Deus Ex: The Fall. She also led the writing team for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy which won The Game Award for best narrative in 2021.

DeMarle didn't specify which BioWare project she will take on. However, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and the next Mass Effect are currently in development at the studio, so perhaps she might work on one of those projects.

Mary DeMarle left Eidos shortly after Embracer purchased the studio along with Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Montréal as well as a catalog of IPs including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain.
