Catch a glimpse of the brutal and somber story of the superhero.
Marvel's Wolverine, an action-adventure centered around the superhero portrayed by Liam McIntyre, will be released on PS5 in the fall of 2026. The game is developed by Insomniac Games, the creator of Marvel's Spider-Man.
At the PlayStation State of Play September 2025 live event, the creators unveiled the release window, along with the rough and brutal gameplay, providing an early look at the superhero adventure. Marcus Smith, Creative Director at Insomniac Games, explained that the game's narrative reflects Wolverine's own nature as an unreliable narrator, with gaps in his memory that add a frustrating but captivating aspect to the story. "The entire game is built around staying true to the Wolverine experience," said the creator. "It's a level of detail that we've never been able to do before."
"We aim to deliver the ultimate Wolverine fantasy built on Insomniac staples like fast, fluid, and ferocious combat," shared Aaron Jason Espinoza, Senior Community Manager at Insomniac Games. He talked about the studio's creative vision, noting that the game will carry a darker tone than the studio has shown before: "We're eager to explore Logan's story with you and tap into his signature spin on heroism, which is much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac."
