It is a project-based comprehensive guide to this software that is suitable for complete beginners, as it starts exploring the tool from the fundamentals.
First, you'll learn Houdini's terminology and UI and understand how it works. Then, the course will lead you to procedural modeling, particle simulation, destruction, pyro and liquid simulations, vellum soft body, cloth and hair simulation, character rigging, animation, and crowd simulation.
The course is project-based, and you will apply your skills immediately. For instance, you will master procedural simulation while making a shed for a homeless little ghost. The course will guide you through the entire process of building the geometry, animation, simulation, lighting, and rendering.
The teacher is Jordan Allen, a VFX Artist who has worked on the visual effects for several TV series. You will also join a Discord community where you can ask questions and have conversations. The course will start on October 7 and is estimated to last 24 weeks.
