Maxon Acquires Mobile 3D Sculpting App forger

The company now owns a digital sculpting app for iPad and other iOS devices.

Maxon revealed they acquired forger, a digital 3D sculpting and texture painting app for iOS. Developed by Javier Edo Meseguer, the toolkit offers professional-level sculpting tools on mobile devices.

The tool comes with an intuitive multitouch interface, a number of sculpting brushes and tools, plus powerful remeshing algorithms, masking and layering capabilities, and more. There's also the ability to import/export OBJ and Alembic file formats.

"We are always looking for ways to expand the creative freedom and capabilities of our artistic community. We love the fun and immediacy that forger’s workflow on iPad offers for sculpting and painting. We look forward to exploring what more it can bring to our users," said David McGavran, CEO. "Javier is a respected programmer who has dedicated himself to developing tools that expand and enhance the everyday needs of production artists, and we’re thrilled to have him join the Maxon team."

The app can be used on all iOS devices (iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch) and also supports Apple Pencil. Learn more and get forget for $9.99 on the Apple App Store.
