Maxon Brings a New Pyro Feature to Cinema 4D

The new features enable one to create fire, smoke, and explosions that interact with forces, cloth, and soft bodies.

During the recent November 3D and Motion Show, Maxon announced the release of Pyro, a brand-new feature for Cinema 4D that allows artists to create fire, smoke, and explosion simulations that are capable of interacting with forces, cloth, and soft bodies and can be simulated on both GPU or CPU.

According to Maxon, the new tool allows one to control and customize the smoke density, fire temperature, and other parameters to art-direct the simulation. Moreover, Pyro also boasts seamless integration with Cinema 4D’s Unified Simulation System, meaning you will be able to set cloth and soft bodies ablaze.

The company has also announced other product updates to the suite of Maxon One tools, including:

  • An integrated Redshift Camera and Radial Symmetry for modeling in Cinema 4D.
  • Forger expands its professional modeling functions by adding Cinema 4D's advanced Symmetry capabilities.
  • VFX enhances Real Lens Flares with more natural elements, adding Schmutz and Diffraction effects to the optical simulation.
  • Trapcode offers an interactive and updated user interface for Particular's curves and color gradients.
