Meta Quest Pro Can Now Track Your Tongue

It's limited and not official, but it's a start.

While Meta's Quest Pro is capable of many feats, what it doesn't have is tongue tracking. It might sound odd to some; why would you need to show off your tongue? However, as UploadVR noted, not having this feature breaks the illusion and looks a little unnatural.

Thankfully, your life without this handy appendage has come to an end as Meta has released a new version of its face-tracking OpenXR extension in version 60 of its SDKs for Unity and native code, which tracks how far you can stick out your tongue.

If you want to use it in VRChat to make your avatar more believable, ALVR developer korejan has your back. They released new VRCFT face-tracking modules for ALXR, an alternative client for PC VR streaming, that support tongue tracking in the game.

Unfortunately, this addition may not be as advanced as you think. You can stick your tongue out, but moving it around in VR space is not possible at the moment.

It's not an official solution, but hopefully, we'll see something native in Quest Pro soon.

Meanwhile, check out korejan's modules here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
