Meta's New AI for Animating Children's Drawings

Here's a new fun AI that can animate abstract characters.

Meta AI, formerly Facebook AI, has presented a brand new AI that can animate abstract characters, similar to ones that children draw. According to the blog post, the team behind the project decided to create this AI because similar programs struggle with humanlike characters due to their randomness. This new AI, however, can recognize and identify such characters, prepare the model via rigging, and animate it.

"We’re excited to announce a first-of-its-kind method for automatically animating children’s hand-drawn figures of people and humanlike characters (i.e., a character with two arms, two legs, a head, etc.) that
bring these drawings to life in a matter of minutes using AI. By uploading them to our prototype system, parents and children can experience the excitement of watching their drawings become moving characters that dance, skip, and jump. And they can even download their animated drawings to share with friends and family," comments the team.
