Meta's New VR Headset Will Be Revealed This October

That's according to Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself.

During the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the company's new virtual reality headset is currently in production and will be officially launched later this year in October. Although not outright named by Zuckerberg, the device will most likely be named Cambria and will be revealed during the company's annual Connect conference.

Mark also named some of the features of the VR headset, namely the new eye-tracking and facial-tracking technologies that promise to make in-game avatars more lively than ever before. "Have your face be tracked so that way your avatar – it’s not just this still thing, but if you smile or if you frown or if you pout, or whatever your expression is, have that translate in real-time to your avatar," he said.

"There’s more nonverbal communication when people are with each other than verbal communication," stated Zuckerberg, explaining the importance of the upcoming features.
