The hearing will take place from June 22 to June 29.
CEOs of Microsoft, Activision Blizzard, and Sony Interactive Entertainment are on the list of witnesses for the hearing on the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) bid to block the merger of the first two companies.
If you missed it, the FTC is seeking a preliminary injunction to block Microsoft from completing its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. If the court grants it, this would most likely destroy the deal and make Microsoft pay a $3 billion termination fee.
Reuters reports that there will be several key executives invited as witnesses:
- Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft
- Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard
- Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Dov Zimring, former director of product management for Google Stadia
- Amy Hood, CFO of Microsoft
- Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming
- Tim Stuart, CFO of Microsoft Gaming
- Two executives from NVIDIA
"The FTC is calling Nadella to testify about the video game industry, Microsoft Gaming’s strategy and business and the planned Activision acquisition, while Microsoft is calling him to testify about similar topics.
Kotick will testify about Activision’s gaming business, future plans, and strategies."
The hearing will start on June 22 and finish on June 29. Find the report here and don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
