The companies promise a seamless user experience.
A new handheld is entering the industry, revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase. Microsoft and ASUS unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally series of handhelds with improved performance, comfort, and user experience.
ASUS
ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X were inspired by the Xbox controller design. "These are the most comfortable handhelds we’ve ever built," ASUS said.
The ROG Xbox Ally has an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor under the hood and a 60Wh battery. The ROG Xbox Ally X offers "more room for graphical fidelity and higher framerates with the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor." The X version also features impulse triggers for more detailed haptic feedback.
Both devices feature displays with 500 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate with VRR, backed by FreeSync Premium. They use AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) frame generation.
"Finally, in a nod to the future, the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme-equipped ROG Xbox Ally X also features an onboard NPU. No matter what the future of gaming holds, the ROG Xbox Ally X will be ready with built-in AI acceleration."

The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will be coming this holiday season, with pricing and pre-order information available at a later date.
