Having the game unable to load on the launch day could be a disastrous condition, if not the scariest nightmare, for all the developers. That’s what Asobo’s Flight Simulator 2024 had gone through, with players getting blocked out of the game and stuck at the loading screen due to overloaded servers.
The loading issue has been fixed, along with some other experience issues, after the developer launched a hot fix last Friday. Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, has issued a statement offering updates on the game's status and future plans.
“The distribution layer capacity has been increased to handle the immense interest in the simulator and the reliability is now above 99.999%. Our servers and services are also all performing as expected.”
Neumann also unveiled that two more hotfixes will be deployed this weekend, December 2, and next week to further improve stability and other issues. Besides resolving stability issues, the developers note that third-party add-ons could also prevent players from entering the game; therefore, they “will temporarily deactivate all MSFS 2020 non-aircraft content from MSFS 2024” until they “identify which content is causing these issues.”
The third patch, to be released on December 9, will enable players to disable/enable content based on their own preferences. “We will also add a safe boot option to deactivate 3rd party content in case of a crash when booting up the simulator.”
When the loading issue bothered the fans, the red "Error-Man" appeared in the game and entertained players. Now that the game is finally functioning, they can finally enjoy flights over beautiful landscapes:
