However, the publisher believes that the situation will improve in the future.
Sales of Firaxis Games' latest title, Marvel's Midnight Suns, have reportedly not met publisher Take-Two Interactive's expectations.
In its latest financial report, the publisher didn't specify sales figures for the tactical RPG but, according to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, they turned out to be lower than Take-Two expected.
Schreier claims that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick shared some details about the game in an interview saying that the title was met warmly by players and critics, although its sales didn't align with what the company had expected. He explained that "it's possible the release window wasn't perfect" and expressed his belief that, like with other Firaxis games, the situation will improve in the future.
Midnight Suns was released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on December 2, 2022. The developers are now working on versions of the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch that will launch at a later date.
Most recently, Firaxis released the first out of at least four DLC packs for the title, The Good, The Bad, and the Undead which introduced Deadpool to the game. The team is currently busy with other DLC packs that will be based on Venom, Morbius, and Storm.
