Genshin Impact has recently reached a new height by hitting $5 billion in player spending, and now it's the fastest mobile game that witnessed this number.
According to the data provided by data.ai, Genshin Impact, developed by miHoYo, has managed to make $5 billion worldwide in just 40 months. Before Genshin Impact, Clash of Clans held the record for the fastest earning of $5 billion, reaching this number in 51 months.
Other games in the top five include Monster Strike (52 months), Honor of Kings (55 months), Fate/Grand Order (57 months), and Pokémon GO (58 months). A total of 13 games have surpassed the $5 billion mark.
In terms of regional earnings, Genshin Impact performed exceptionally well in China, generating $1.5 billion, which is approximately 30% of the total player spending. Japan follows in second place with $1.06 billion (21%), while the United States ranks third with $903 million (18%).
After its launch back in 2020, the game has been receiving regular major updates, with the upcoming patch 4.4 set to release today. This update will introduce the new character Xianyun.
