Fallout: Vault 13, a fan recreation of Fallout 1 with the graphics and engine of Fallout 4, has been suspended. The project was in active development, and the demo was released in August. It was very well-received, promising a successful launch. However, recently, the Project Co-Lead culinwino announced that it had been halted.
In a Discord message, culinwino shared that after deliberation, the team had decided to officially suspend development on Vault 13: "This was not an easy decision, but we believe it is the right step at this stage of our journey. I know this may come as unexpected news, and we sincerely apologize for any disappointment it may cause." The developer called the launch of the mod's demo a "huge milestone" and pointed out that its success showed "how much hard work and passion was poured into this project by the entire team and community."

However, despite the fact that the active development is officially ended, culinwino revealed that the team would share the part of the project that had already been created: "In the coming weeks, we will release a full build of Fallout: Vault 13 that includes all unfinished content. This release will allow the community to experience the project in its current form and serve as a foundation for anyone interested in continuing or building upon it in the future." The mod would appear on Nexus Mods.
Also, the mod team plans to release a "retrospective that will take a look back at everything we’ve accomplished with Fallout: Vault 13." The upcoming release will be dedicated to the mod and will "celebrate the highs, the lessons learned, and the passion that drove this project."
