Modder Adds Online Multiplayer To The Witcher 3
Play the game and hang out with friends.
Part of The Witcher 3's massive appeal probably comes from its rich single-player experience. But if you've already played it a lot and want something new to do while waiting for The Witcher 4, you can now play alongside friends using Witcher Online, a mod made by rejuvenate7.
By default, everyone plays as their own version of Geralt, though customization is possible with the Custom Player Characters mod. You can also hang out together in taverns using the Chill Out mod, and enjoy in-game chat and emotes. However, gameplay progress is still pretty much solo. Players can't help each other in combat or quests, so everyone has to complete objectives at the same time as they move through the story.
According to the mod's description, its main goal is to let players see each other while exploring the world. To use it, you'll need a legitimate copy of The Witcher 3 Next-Gen version (4.04 or newer) from Steam or GOG.
