Modder behind Fan-Made Resident Evil 4 Remaster Lands Industry Job

The co-creator of the Resident Evil 4 HD mod has gotten a job at Nightdive Studios.

The co-creator of Resident Evil 4 HD Project, a popular mod that is considered an unofficial remaster of the game, Albert Marin has shared that he landed an industry job.

The modder published a message on the Resident Evil 4 HD Project website revealing that he got a job at Nightdive Studios, the developer known for remastering classic titles which is currently working on the upcoming remake of System Shock.

"I’m really happy because I’m finally and for the first time in my life working in the videogame industry," Marin wrote. "Thank you, Joel, for having faith in me, and thank you, Stephen, for the opportunity in Nightdive Studios."

According to Marin, not only is he not giving up on the support of the HD Project, but he also plans to release a patch in the upcoming summer season. However, the specific details of the update are yet to be disclosed.

In his message, the modder also touched upon the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4 by Capcom. Marin believes that despite being more faithful to the original than previous Resident Evil remakes, the upcoming title will not completely replace the 2006 release. According to him, the two games offer distinct experiences that stand on their own, rather than being in competition with each other.
