Capcom’s highly anticipated successor to Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Wilds, finally received a release date at Sony’s September 2024 State of Play, accompanied by a new story-focused trailer.
The new trailer gives fans a first look at the flagship monster in the game, Arkveld, which “serves as the catalyst for the dramatic events that kick off the events of the story and formation of the Forbidden Lands Research Commission.” It also presents some new monsters that never showed up in previous trailers.

Monster Hunter Wilds will introduce some innovative features, including the ability to “switch between two weapons of your choice while out on hunts,” which is loved by fans. The game will also feature an ever-changing environment accompanied by “extreme weather conditions that transform the locale in unexpected ways."

The developers set fans’ hopes high by promising that they will be able to enjoy the “most evolved action and improved immersion in the series.” Luckily, the wait is not going to take long as Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on February 28, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Pre-orders start today, and the bonus items will include the “Guild Knight Set” and the Talisman “Hope Charm.”
