Monster Hunter Wilds Reportedly Performs Better with More DLC Installed
A Reddit user tested the theory with two Steam accounts, and it turned out that with all DLC installed, the game runs at higher FPS.

Monster Hunter Wilds has seen some noticeable technical issues, which even led to players leaving an impressive number of negative reviews and the developer ship a major post-launch update fixing the bugs.
A Reddit user de_Tylmarande has claimed to uncover the cause of Monster Hunter Wilds' performance issues, and the explanation is as strange as it is unexpected.
The user noted that after testing Monster Hunter Wilds across two Steam accounts, one with only the base game and another with all DLC installed, and the account with full DLC consistently showed better performance. According to de_Tylmarande's investigation, the game runs better the more DLC a player owns due to a system that constantly checks which DLC is installed. While not intentional on Capcom's part, this repeated verification is believed to cause performance drops. To validate the theory, the user created a mod that tricks the game into recognizing all DLC as owned, which confirmed the theory and led to immediate FPS improvements.

The player sent all findings to Capcom support. Interestingly, the same user previously helped Capcom resolve a performance issue in Dragon's Dogma 2.
The Reddit post was briefly deleted by moderators but then restored for inexplicable reasons. In the update, de_Tylmarande shared that they were contacted by Digital Foundry, who already might be on the case.
