The creator of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps discussed the upcoming ARPG.
Thomas Mahler, the co-founder of Moon Studios and director of the Ori games, shed some light on the company's upcoming ARPG, comparing it to Zelda:
"Ori was our 'Mario', this is our 'Zelda'. That was my thought when I first started prototyping our new project back in 2015."
On Twitter, he confirmed that the game will have an art style similar to Ori and said that it's important for the studio's games to have distinguishable art, which allows players to know that this is a Moon Studios title from just a thumbnail.
Mahler also shared that he always starts with a gameplay prototype when creating a new game, before making a universe for it:
"That prototype has to reach a level of fun that's already competitive to what's currently on the market for us to even consider going into production. Finding the fun is essential, but that's then followed by years of hard work!"
Finally, Mahler said that the new game will be available on PlayStation, which is why Moon Studios partnered with Private Division, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. He said he doesn't like the idea of making the studio's game exclusive to one console and wants everyone to be able to play.
