Mortal Kombat 1 Has Been Officially Revealed

The game is coming on September 19, 2023, for PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

NetherRealm has shared an official announcement trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, a new game in the MK franchise that takes the entire series back in time following the ending of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, in which Liu Kang acquired the control of time itself.

Described as a "reborn of the Mortal Kombat Universe", the game promises to feature a new fighting system, game modes, enhanced character models, and new gruesome Fatalities. The flashy announcement trailer released by the team shared a look at some of the upcoming game's heroes, including Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, as well as a few of MK1's graphic finishing moves.

According to NetherRealm, Mortal Kombat 1 is coming on September 19, 2023, for PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are to go live tomorrow, on May 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM PT, with pre-orders receiving Shang Tsung as a playable character and getting access to MK1 beta (PS5 and Xbox only).
