Moving Objects in Blender by Tilting a Laptop

The artist used a combination of a gyroscope-based app and Blender to make it possible.

Chinese 3D Designer 五天晴, who previously managed to light a Blender-made scene using an iPhone, has unveiled one more project that will make you question reality. This time, the artist created a setup that allows him to move objects in Blender by simply tilting a laptop. At the first glance, this setup looks almost magical.

The laptop itself, as you might've guessed already, has nothing to do with it. The illusion is made thanks to the smartphone that lies on the keyboard and moves just like the laptop. The phone has an OSC(Open Sound Control)-based app installed and it detects the phone's motion using a gyroscope. The motion is then linked to objects in Blender via a Blender OSC add-on, making it possible to tilt and shake the objects by tilting and shaking the phone.

You can find more mind-blowing projects by visiting the artist's Twitter page. Also, don't forget to join our new Reddit pageour new Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
