After so many years, Minecraft is allegedly getting a native PlayStation 5 version. According to the IDs found in the PlayStation Store's backend, players won't have to deal with the PS4 launcher.
First, the IDs were noticed by a Reddit user, as spotted by The Gamer, and then PlayStation Game Size, an account well known for its PSN information, confirmed the rumor.
If it is true, PlayStation 5 owners are in for a treat as they now have to play the game through backwards compatibility via a PS4 launcher. After the release, it will be much more convenient to start Minecraft on current-gen consoles.
It's not clear what exactly will be changed, but the new version will probably enable ray-tracing and 120 FPS. But from what I've gathered, fans want shaders most of all, and I can't blame them.
The whole deal is possible thanks to Microsoft, which owns the game's developer Mojang, deciding to release some Xbox exclusives on PlayStation. To do so, it received access to PS5 development kits, and here we are.
We don't know when the PS5 version will launch, but some players think April is the time. What do you expect from this?
