The specialist should have experience supporting a AAA, free-to-play, live title.
Naughty Dog published a job listing that might suggest The Last of Us 2 multiplayer will be a free-to-play game.
The description of the Live Ops Producer position states that for its multiplayer title, Naughty Dog is looking for a specialist with "proven experience in a production role supporting a AAA, free-to-play, live title." Based on this, Insider Gaming assumed the position is connected to the upcoming The Last of Us 2 multiplayer title.
The game had been rumored for quite some time before Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, revealed the concept art for it.
“What started out as a multiplayer mode has evolved because of the team’s ambition. They really wanted to do something we’ve never done before at Naughty Dog, and we felt the way to do it justice was to make it a standalone title. They’ve been working on it for the past two years, and ambition has grown, but we’re not quite ready to unveil it yet,” Druckmann said.
We should hear more about the game in 2023. Meanwhile, what do you think about the free-to-play idea? Share your thoughts and don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
