On February 2, Naughty Dog released a documentary, Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II, where the developers delved into the creation process of the second installment of the series.

The documentary lasts around 2 hours and provides a glimpse into the production process, as well as shares some archival footage, concepts, and behind-the-scenes stories.

In the last minutes of the documentary, Neil Druckmann spoke out about the rumors flying around The Last of Us Part 3 and shared that he finally got the concept for the game, which he wasn't able to find for a long time.

"I've been thinking about it: is there a concept there? And for now years, I haven't been able to find that concept. But recently that's changed. I don't have a story, but I do have that concept that, to me, is as exciting as 1, as exciting as 2, is its own thing, and yet has this throughline for all three. So it does feel like there's probably one more chapter to this story," Druckmann shared in the documentary.
