Over the past eight months, Netflix Games has hired 14 game industry veterans and it will continue to expand as new games roles are opening at the company's Los Gatos and Los Angeles offices.
As a part of its strategy to add more mobile games to its entertainment subscription, Netflix keeps expanding its Netflix Games division. While tech giants like Apple, Google, Amazon, and Meta are entering the game space more carefully and quietly, Netflix Games is gradually being replenished by the industry veterans from top game companies.
Currently, Netflix's job listing accounts for nine positions across the company's Los Gatos and Los Angeles offices including job openings in QA, UX, internal and external development, operations, and partnerships. There are also five new roles at Night School Studio – the developer behind Oxenfree and Afterparty that Netflix acquired in September last year.
Over the past eight months, the company already hired 14 big names starting with former EA, Kabam, and Facebook executive Mike Verdu who now serves as Netflix’s VP of Games. Last week, it was also announced that PlayStation veteran Roberto Barrera was appointed as the new head of Gaming Strategy, Planning & Analysis at Netflix.
