"Coming soon."
Netflix has announced that its animated Minecraft series is now "in the works" and will be coming "soon."
The project is being made by both Netflix and the game's developer Mojang Studios, so it should be as close to the source as possible, although I have a vague idea about what we'll see, and the teaser presented by Netflix doesn't clarify anything with its creeper and a giant N surrounded by lava.
Minecraft fans will have a feast, it seems, because there is also a movie in the making based on the popular sandbox game, starring Jason Momoa, best known as Aquaman and Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, as well as Jack Black, who will play Steve. Grant Major is the film's Production Designer. He has worked on Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, and The Power of the Dog. The adaptation is expected to launch on April 4, 2025.
In other Minecraft news, the game's creator has recently shared some updates on his next title, Levers and Chests, and shown how he works with ambient occlusion.
