A great way to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary.
GTA 5 was released in September 10 years ago. It's a grand date for a grand game, especially when the next installment from Rockstar is nowhere to be seen any time soon. You might believe you've seen all there is about it, but its artists think differently.
To celebrate the anniversary, Anthony Macbain and Roxie Vizcarra shared some concept art that has never been shared before.
First, Vizcarra published an image of a burning police car on her Instagram, showing the visual design of the game back when she drew it.
"Happy 10 year anniversary, #GrandTheftAutoV! It’s been a crazy decade.
My favorite illustration from that era that never made the prime time. I learned a lot about painting fire though."
Later, Macbain, who had worked on promotional art for Grand Theft Auto V, showed some designs of Trevor and Franklin. The latter is sporting a coat and a nice suit, while Trevor has four outfits to show off; one of them features a police crime scene tape wrapped around his head, which appeared in GTA Online. Stylish!
"This month marks 10 years since the release of GTA V!
And today marks 6 years since my last day working at Rockstar Games. In honor of the celebrations, here are some of the original concept designs I did for Trevor and Franklin. Enjoy!"
Both artists contributed to GTA 5 greatly. Macbain spent over 13 years at the company, while Vizcarra stayed for more than 9 years. Together, they then co-founded Anthrox Studio aiming to " broaden their creativity and originality in new ways as independent contractors and continue to deliver the highest quality of artistic work and creative direction found in the industry."
If we don't get any GTA 6 information soon, I hope other artists will share some more visuals from Grand Theft Auto 5 at least.
