Nevercenter's Silo Received Native Apple Silicon Support

Nevercenter has shipped Silo 2024.2, a new version of its lightweight and intuitive 3D modeling software, which now runs natively on newer Arm-based Macs, bringing enhanced performance across the board and featuring improvements to all numerical entry fields.

In recent years, Nevercenter has been putting out relatively small but consistent updates to Silo and Milo, industry-grade affordable toolsets that have a reputation for being lightweight and efficient for 3D modeling and rendering in real-time using Unreal Engine.

The company has mostly been doing under-the-hood improvements to make 3D modeling software Silo even faster, but the 2024 version introduced File Instance, a new file-referencing system, enabling artists to create instances within a Silo project that are referencing a completely different external file in any standard 3D model file format.

In the demo video above, Silo is run on an M2 MacBook Air, showcasing a smoother and faster performance as well as an improved Numerical Editor.

Now, you can input increment or decrement values in all numerical entry fields with up and down arrow keys. Holding Shift increases increment/decrement amount in numerical fields when using arrow keys or scrolling, while Control/Command decreases the amount.

Other updates include a new right-click menu to numerical input fields to quickly reset the value to default or multiply by specified amounts, added Merged Vertex Location option to Merge Options window, and various bug fixes.
