New Bayonetta Voice Actor Responds to Hellena Taylor's Comments

Jennifer Hale who voiced Bayonetta in the third part of the game said that she supports "every actor's right to be paid well" and shared that she hopes that the situation with Hellena Taylor may be resolved in an "amicable and respectful way."

Last weekend, actress Hellena Taylor, the original voice of Bayonetta, published a series of video messages where she explained that she refused to voice the heroine in the third part of the game due to the low wage she was offered.

The actress shared that although the actions of PlatinumGames, the developer of the Bayonetta series, were totally legal they were "immoral" as, according to her, when negotiating her wage, she didn't ask for too much but asked for a "decent, dignified living wage."

This is why she urged the fans of the series to boycott the game to support her and "stand up in solidarity with people all over the world who do not get paid properly."

In her message, Taylor also spoke about Jennifer Hale, the actress who voiced Bayonetta in the third part of the game, saying that she has "no right" to associate herself with Bayonetta.

Today, Hale responded to Taylor's comments. While she couldn't say too much about the situation due to the NDA, she noted that she supports "every actor's right to be paid well" and advocates for all members of the voice acting community.

She also asked the fans to appreciate the hard work the developer did working on Bayonetta 3 and "keep an open mind" about what the team has created adding that she hopes that "everyone involved may resolve their differences in an amicable and respectful way."
