The show's second season will also be its last.
Shortly after unveiling a bite-sized teaser during its Next On Netflix Animation presentation, Netflix has now presented a fully-fledged official trailer for what is perhaps this year's most anticipated sequel in the world of animation, the second season of Fortiche Production's and Riot Games' Arcane.
Relatively spoiler-free, the new trailer offered a glimpse at Season 2's upcoming confrontation between Piltover and Zaun and teased the long-awaited Jinx vs. Vi battle, once again blowing our minds with the quality of 3D models and fluidity of animation sequences.
In addition, the trailer revealed that the show's second season will also be its last, which, I think we can all agree, is a positive for a show as legendary as Arcane, considering how often TV series outstay their welcome and become mere cash cows for their creators, losing everything that made them so beloved in the first place.
Later today, Fortiche Production and Riot Games will join Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2024 to discuss the production of Arcane and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the series, so if you'd like to learn more about the show, we highly recommend joining the presentation.
Previously, Fortiche also shared the release window for Arcane Season 2, assuring fans that the story will continue in November 2024. Following that, the team unveiled the first teaser trailer for the second season, featuring Singed and a blood transfusion operation. From what's shown, it appears that the upcoming season will be even darker than the first, a sentiment echoed by Jinx voice actress Ella Purnell, who described the sequel as "devastating, and nobody will feel good after watching it."
