Newly Released Party Animals Already Hit 100k Players On Steam

The milestone was reached a mere hour after the game's release.

Party Animal is a multiplayer physics-based fighting/party game that was created by Recreate Games and published by Source Technology. The game allows its players to take on the role of animals and engage in a range of challenges. The game offers various maps where players need to complete different tasks, such as pushing opponents into an abyss or scoring a ball into a basket.

The game was released yesterday, September 20, on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Also, the game became accessible on Xbox Game Pass right after its launch.

Before its official release, the game was ranked as the most frequently wishlisted game among Steam users. With that in mind, it's no wonder it hit 100k online players on Steam just one hour after its launch. According to the first reviews, Party Animals faced a significant server load, resulting in long queues. The development team at Recreate Games has already acknowledged the issue and has stated their commitment to resolving it.

Despite the successful launch, the game's reviews on Steam are Mixed. Some gamers say the game is chaotic in a good way and enjoy playing it, while others keep leaving negative reviews, citing reasons such as terrible ping, etc.

After its release, Party Animals received over 2600 negative reviews, most of which were left by Chinese users. The gamers say Party Animals' price doesn't correspond to the game itself, being way too high for a party game, and noting that "it's like the developers didn't bother to put enough effort into it".

Hopefully, the game can attract more people to Xbox Game Pass and help it reach desirable numbers of subscribers since Phil Spencer made a statement about potentially leaving the gaming business if Xbox Game Pass doesn't show significant growth by 2027.
