Although the ownership of PC-related peripherals has enjoyed consistent growth, gaming controller and headset ownership saw a slight decrease from November 2019 to November 2020 starting to grow again in November 2021. As the firm explains, this dip is related to the launch of Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 as gamers were holding off the purchase of new peripherals prior to the launch of the new-gen consoles. The firm also noted that awareness among active console and PC players has increased throughout the years, and currently, users consider six different brands before buying any peripherals.
